This untitled collection was only available from the MoonOffice.
It was first offered in MoonPaper 3/93.
"Big in Japan 1992 A.D." was edited by Daniel Steinmitz in Berlin, 1992. It's
comprised of clips from the original "Big in Japan" video, "Mysteries of Love"
and "Patricia's Park" from Songlines, and several
clips of Alphaville on stage. Thus, this video is particularly important
because it gives us a chance to see all four Alphaville members (Marian,
Bernhard, Ricky and Frank) in one video.
"What is Love?" and "One Step Behind You" (from Marian's first solo album
So Long Celeste) were directed by Vanessa Vassar,
in New York and Berlin in 1992. The presence of "What is Love?" on the
compilation is surprising, because it was never released as a single.
The cover is a black and white photo featuring Alphaville from around 1989
(I can tell because they're wearing the same outfits they wore in many of the
publicity shots for The Breathtaking Blue).
